Hi, I'm Sophie

Project manager. Parent. An expat residing in Paris, France.

A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary contract gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.

How It Started

Moving to France wasn’t part of our long-range plan. Like many expat journeys, it began as a work opportunity and quickly grew into something far larger.

The first months were intense — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks felt more complicated than they should.

The Adjustment Period

There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But gradually, routines settled in. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt steady.

Why I Built BriskLeafPath

Most information online was either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family point of view.

This site exists to fill that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in France.

What This Site Does (And Does Not)

This site is:

  • Hands-on experience from life in France
  • Centered on family life and daily realities
  • Updated whenever something truly changes

This site isn't:

  • Not a tourism authority resource
  • Not a sponsored review platform
  • Not a generic travel blog

Looking Forward

Our stay in France continues, and so does the learning process. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep recording what we learn.

If you have questions about family life in Paris or anywhere in France, don't hesitate to get in touch.

Best regards,

Sophie
